The team rankings have changed many times over the few months that we have played, and there have been some major movers too. It's atually quite shocking how it plays out. Here they are...

Original Rankings

  1. NYG
  2. Chicago
  3. San Fran
  4. LA
  5. Denver
  6. Miami
  7. Cleveland
  8. Washington
  9. Seattle
  10. Minnesota
  11. Dallas
  12. Indy

This was the original  set of rankings.  There was a group of elite 4(Giants, Bears, SF and LA) and it was thought that no one could beat them, or even really come close to beating them.  The Giants were the favorite, but there was some speculation that Chicago could be the best simply because of their overall greatness on both sides of the ball.  San Fran and LA were close behind too, with SF getting the edge because they had a D, and LA's is really crap.  Denver was an easy 5th, thought to be able to crush the weaker teams and maybe come close to the elite teams.  Then there wasnt real definitive rankings after that.  Miami was next because of the great O and Marino, then the rest down to teh bottom 2.  There was no doubt in our minds that these were by far the worst teams in the game and that they could never beat anybody half decent. But as you will see, this all changed.

Second Wave

  1. NYG
  2. Chicago
  3. SF
  4. LA
  5. CLE
  6. Wash
  7. Miami
  8. Denver
  9. Seattle
  10. Minn
  11. Dallas
  12. Indy

No real changes to the elite 4 at this time.  The big mover was Denver, they really dropped off the mat, it seemed as if they just couldnt win, for some reasn elway didnt dominate, and dorsett sure as hell didnt, but the big reason they sucked was because Mecklenburg sucked, he never did anything nad played like one of the worst defenders.  Cleveland and Washington were now considered very good and easily grabbed the 5th and 6th spots, the only reason cleveland was ranked ahead was becasue of their ability to beat washington. Everythign else more or less stayed the same.

Third Set

  1. NYG, ya they are never moving from this spot
  2. Chicago, despite never winning nothing
  3. Cle, a shocker
  4. SF
  5. Den, back in business
  6. Wash
  7. Sea
  8. LA, fall of a mega power
  9. Miami
  10. Minn
  11. Dallas
  12. Indy, something that will never change

Cleveland, your not reading it wrong, cleveland is in 3rd spot, thanks mostly to Maniac Dixon and insane coverage everytime.  They just went on a big run with awesome D and solid enough O and it seemed as if no one could stop them.  The biggest surprise though would be the fall of the raiders.  This occured because everyone was too focused on picking Bo Jackson and it was thought they didnt have a good enough passing game. The true reason for the fall was the D though, it just started going super shit and couldnt stop anyone, which got you demoralized.  Denver also rose proving that they were infact a good team. Miami dropped, again because of brutal D like LA.  They went down to 4th and stayed there for a while.

4th

  1. NYGods
  2. Chicago
  3. Cleveland
  4. Denver
  5. Seattle
  6. WASH
  7. LA
  8. Miami
  9. San Fran
  10. Minnesota
  11. Dallas
  12. Indy

The fall of another Mega Power.  SF goes into the doldrums via pass 1.  It was discovered that if you call Pass 1 on SF you get great coverage on evrey pass, making their O pretty much useless. No real other changes other than the establishment of Denver and Seattle as mega forces that can beat probably anybody.

5th-Return of the Old School

  1. NYG
  2. CHI
  3. LA
  4. SEA
  5. DEN
  6. CLE
  7. SF
  8. WSH
  9. MIA
  10. MIN
  11. INDY
  12. DAL

Finally LA moves back up to 3rd where they should be about, and we learned to play a little better with the SF O which moved them up.  There were questions about if Chicago should be second anymore aswell.  This is because they never win anything in a Tourny or Season, they always do good but never even make the finals. Seatlle made sure everyone knew they were unstoppable and Cleveland took a little bit of a hit because of their lack lustre O. Miami moved back into their regular spot at 4th worst, where they like to be. There were also serious doubt arising as to whether or not Minnesota was the worst team in the game and should be moved down past lowly indy and dallas.  But it wasnt made offcial.  Also Dallas was made worst team for the first time ever, this isint a big deal though because it has always been a close race for last between them and Indy.

6th - Current Rankings

  1. NYG
  2. MIAMI-WOW, NOT A TYPO
  3. LA
  4. CHI
  5. Cle
  6. Sea
  7. Den
  8. SF
  9. Wsh
  10. Indy
  11. Dallas
  12. Minnesota

BIG changes.  For the first time ever Chicago is not #2 and all i can say is, take that chicago.  Consistently not getting the job done when it counts will do that to you. And the new #2 is perennial suck team Miami vaults up.  This is due to teh fact that most all the teams Cannot stop run 1 without calling it. LA is again 3rd because of their unstoppable O.  After LA the rankings get realy close and tough. Chicago deserves 4th because they can beat almost every team. After chicago you could really make a case for any of the teams, SF could be 5th easily.  But currently cleveland is their because of their dominating D.  Seattle and Denver havent done much impressing since their earlier rise so they only get 6th and 7th.  And SF is low because it is so damn hard to play with them.  Washington falls in at lowly 9th, but Never underestimate washington, they can beat almost anyone, that D might be second best in the game. We also have changes at the bottom.  Minnesota finally falls to the bottom spot which has been a long time coming.  Then its a toss up for 10th with Indy winning out because of more gayness.  We all know Walker is the man though.

7th- Endless Changes

  1. NYG
  2. Chi(back again)
  3. LA
  4. SF
  5. Den
  6. Cle
  7. Sea
  8. Mia
  9. Ind
  10. Dal
  11. Min
  12. Wsh

Giants remain at hte top of course, but now they seem more beatable, defenitely they have a change of losing when they are on the road.  Chicago got pissed they were dropped from the #2 spot so now they are back up there where they probably belong. LA is #3 because they can whoop anyone in the game.  SF makes their triumphant return to the top of the list because they simply cannot be stopped.  The middle is pretty standard, but Miami moves back down again because their run isint proving as useful as before.  The big changes are at the bottom, Neither Indy or Dallas occupy either of the bottom spots, and both of them are now considered to have unstoppable offenses, which they do.  The 2 worst teams are Minnesota and Washington, what do they have in common? The WR Reverse, ie the worst play in the game.  It totally kills their offense, Minnesota can barely move the ball and washington is totally destroyed, Washington may never recover from this, to win now they need mega picks from the Doom Combo.

8th - Yet again...

  1. New York Football Giants
  2. Chi
  3. SF
  4. LA
  5. Cle
  6. Den
  7. Sea
  8. Indy
  9. Mia
  10. Dal
  11. Min
  12. Wsh

Just another set of never ending changes.  This time it was very hard to decide on any order.  Basically everything after the first 2 is debateable.  SF is a solid #3 right now.  Cle is possibly better than LA since LA can be half gimmicked.  Den is a clear #6 after those teams but after that is gets messy.  Indy and Mia have looked strong lately, maybe even stronger than Sea.  Also lowly Wsh and Min suddenly have new life.  Instead of the gimmicks associated with them working to perfection they are breaking down.  Very recently it was proven that these teams, if they play stingy D,(which they can) can win.  They are very close to Dal at this point.

DOOM COMBO is back Again!

Manly and Mann: Bringing 143 different kinds of Doom your way.

Parity- There have been alot of changes in team rankings over the months but the biggest change for sure is the parity, that no one likes.  Now every game is a damn battle. It used to be if you werent elite 4 you sucked ass.  But now it is so close, after the NYG that is.  It goes NYG a big gap and then teams 2-9 are all very close.  Any team there could easily win a tourny if the Giants were not involved.  Hell even Dallas and Indy can scare people now with their basically unstoppable O's, thats right, unstoppable.  Only minnesota really sucks and even they surprise once in a while.  Just far too much Parity, and what the hell is Miami doing at the top?

More to come soon
