As you can see Congressman Steve Largent is planning to pass an emergency Bill of Call Run. Seattles President and GM asked Largent if he could do anything to improve their misfortunes this season. When he heard his former team was in need he was happy to help. He said he would do whatever it takes so he went all out and got a bill passed in the house of commons.

Steve Largent on Parliament Hill shortly after passing the Bill of Call Run.

But that isnt all Largent was able to do.

He made a personal visit to see his old friend Dave Kreig and see what had been troubling him all season and also to assess if the drunkenness rumours were indeed true. When he saw his long time friend he hadnt shaven in 3 weeks and was sitting in a room filled with empty beer bottles. It was at this time Largent decided that Kreig was too far gone for just one man to help him, he needed to go back to congress.

Steve Largent in all his vast power was actually able to amend the constitution and more specifically section 8.6c. The area that deals specifically with QB drunkenness. The changes now mean that Krieg will not be able to touch a drop of alcohol until after the season is over.

When asked about the amendment a rejuvenated Kreig, who had only been sober for about 2 hours, seemed to have his killer instinct back and was ready to get out on the field and put the past behind him. He said the upcoming game with long time rival Denver will be an important one and he will be able to show case his talents when sober.

When the nameless Seattle RB was asked for comment on the newly passed Bill of Call Run he could do nothing but smile, then laugh a sinister laugh as he knew what was now in store for their future opponents.

Next weeks issue of World Magazine outlining Steve Largents heroic contributions to the world of Tecmo.

Largent could not be reached for comment but did issue this press release.

I believe what has been accomplished here today is something we can all be proud of. These changes will be a positive influence on the world of Tecmo and also Seattle. QB drunkenness will no longer be a problem in Seattle. The BCR will immensely help out the O by getting the pressure off of Kreig when he does have to pass. The bill does not only apply to the Seattle O but also their D as well. I am sure that Young will be happy to hear the news that more run will be being called on D. All in all it is a great day for Tecmo and a great day for Seattle.

Thank you.

The San Francisco 49ers and more specially Joe Montana called an emergency press conference today to address the crushing defeat by Chicago the day before.

A sombre Joe Montana walked to the podium with his head hung in shame.

This, the day after losing Tecmo Bowl XII, was a tough one for Joe Cool.

He started by thanking the fans who supported the team and helped them win the Divisional Championship over Arch Rival NYG. He was grateful many of them made the trek to Chicago to support them. He was also quick to give credit to the best team of the season and rightful winners, the Chicago Penguin Kings. But you could tell something was on Montanas mind. Something was not quite right.

Joe was all smiles outside, but he meant business once he got to the podium.

He paused for a moment and then spoke, Thats the toughest loss I have ever been a part of. Everything about the game just didnt go our way. We were on an emotional high after our D came up huge and shut out the NYG. We had a terrific week of practice and we really thought we had a chance. We were the heavy underdogs but we knew in our hearts that we could pull this one out and upset the rock solid Kings.

Ronnie was telling me before the game he could sense something good was in air and that the D could really control this predictable O. What really bothers me is that it doesnt even feel like we had a chance. Right from the opening kick off we were down 7-0. That is no way to start. On the road in the championship game in the second toughest stadium to win in in the entire league, thats not how you are supposed to do things. But I remained calm, I went out there and did what I had to do. I wasnt about to show weakness, we led a drive down to their 5 and ended up getting some points. This was a huge positive because it was obviously a huge question mark if anyone could drive on the Kings this year with Mongo having what has to be considered the season of his life. But then right away they get another return that would have been a TD if it wasnt for Lott making a Spider-Man like effort and tracking down Gentry. But it was all for naught since they were able to score on the next play and get us down 14-3.

Can we just sick a fucking man on Gentry?

You dont really like to assign blame, continued Montana, but there is no way around this, our special teams really let us down. They never even gave us a chance to win, and you cant have that.

I guess I will question this game the rest of my life. I will never really know if we had what it took to be champions, and thats the worst feeling of all. I would have rather gone out there and got beat from start to finish all 6 minutes.

Joe Cool went out to rally the troops, but it wasnt meant to be on this day.

A sight all too common on Tecmo Bowl Sunday.

After his opening speech Montana opened the press conference to questions:

How did the early KRs affect your game plan?

Well it definitely meant we had to start forcing things. Being down by that many points you cant be conservative. You can see how it showed because I threw 3 picks, there was an urgency to get down field. It was basically an impossible situation, going against that D with all their experience, I dont know if Singletary has ever blown a 2 score lead in his life.

Was Lott not able to come today?

No he wasnt. He is actually taking this worse than I am. He really wanted this Championship Ring and he thought his D could take care of Payton and Co. He is really distraught and said it would be better if he didnt show up today.

Do you think the team will be able to rebound from this kind of a loss?

You know you always want to stay positive heading into a new season, especially when it starts the day

after the last one ended, but I dont know if our players can recover that quickly. Their mental state will be a factor for sure, I hope we can tough this one out.

What do you see happening for the Penguin Kings in the near future?

Montana seemed optimistic for the first time all day when answer this question. They have made some questionable off season moves in upper management, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. I in vision Mike Gentry will continue Hobaging people at an astronomical rate but I dont really see a repeat for them.

Montana was able to crack a smile when asked about Chicago's less than spectacular chances of a repeat.

Has management talked to you about addressing the need for a bottom defender?

They did actually. Unfortunately we will be unable to add anyone due to some cap issues. I also requested we bring in some good ST players but this request was also denied. There arent many positives heading into season 8.

Thats all the time I have for today. I have to go hang out with Jerry Rice. This loss stings but the better team won, we will get them next time, Jerry told me so.

As Joe was leaving he encouraged everyone to pick up a copy of his new football game.....Sans Mike Gentry.
